The Fourth PRAGMA Workshop
Pacific Rim Applications and Grid Middleware Assembly The 4th Workshop
Location: Monash University, Melbourne, Australia
Date: June 4-6, 2003
Presentation and Demonstration
In the Bio-science session, we made a presentation and a demonstration about our filesystem for sharing confidential data on the grid, and we also had a disscussion about it. Since development of the filesystem has been already completed and the system is working, many people were interested.
Presenter: Susumu Date and Shingo Takeda (Graduate School of Information Science and Technology)
Title: A Secure Filesystem for sharing of Confidential data on the Grid
Abstract: In our Biogrid Project , the bio-researchers demand a convenient method for confidential data sharing. To satisfy the demand, we combined SFS and GSI, and developed the new filesystem named GSI-SFS. SFS is a filesystem developed at MIT and GSI is a security component developed by Globus Project .
Discussion: About need for identifying and categorizing the different types of shared data (e.g., patient data, public genomic data).
